Haven’t had much to post regarding my American League Western Division champions, the Angels, after they quickly departed the 2007 postseason, being swept by Boston. But, yesterday the winners of the American League Gold Glove awards were announced, and Los Angeles Angel Orlando Cabrera took the honors at shortstop. Cabrera led qualifying AL shortstops with a .983 fielding percentage and a league-low 11 errors. This is Cabrera’s second Gold Glove having earned the award in the National League in 2001 with the Montreal Expos.
Only 112 days until the Spring Training schedule starts. Here’s to 2008.
