I woke up real early this morning — unable to sleep. In fact, I haven’t slept well the last two nights — tossing and turning and/or having really weird and exhausting dreams when I do happen to fall asleep for 10 or 15 minute periods. Now, I’m not saying that the Writers Strike is what is keeping me up at night, but it is a concern of mine — either as a fan of television and films or as a future member of the WGA. Since I gave up sleeping this morning at around 5:00 AM I thought I’d do something creative. So, I came up with this t-shirt design to show my support. I know it’s not officially “T-Shirt Tuesday” but I thought I’d go ahead and post it regardless.
It’s a nice simple design with a filmstrip crossing over a heart that I think gets the point across. If anybody else is interested in showing their support for the writers you can find t-shirts, buttons, etc… here.

Let’s hear it for the writers, the creative geniuses whose vision and originality receive little notice or praise thanks to CGI-enamored directors, money-grubbing producers and petulant stars and starlets.
“In the beginning was the word…”
And don’t you forget it, Hollywood!

When the “writers” stop writing formulaic crap not worthy of a 7th grade doodling during biology, then I’ll support the writers – but the film school dropouts who have picked up a pen/keyboard in the past couple of decades and churned out the 90%+ crap hewn at us by their chimp fastballs are a large part of the problem, not the solution.
